Nothing Biden Administration/Congress has said about the Conflict in Ukraine has been true. The economic sanctions that were supposed to cripple the Russian economy have caused the Russian Rouble to appreciate to a 5 Year high against the EURO. The war that we were told Ukrainians were winning on the ground against inept Russian troops has turned out to be the exact opposite, with swaths of land double the size of Connecticut now firmly under Russian Control. The Azov battalion that promised to fight to the end has surrendered. We should not be surprised. Biden and the traitors in Congress have a history of lying to the American people to get them to support wars of aggression. Remember the WMDs we were told were in Iraq? Remember the lies and coverup of the 9/11 investigation? Remember how Libya’s president was sodomized and murdered after he surrendered and had all of his country’s Gold and Oil stolen by the defensive organization known as NATO? When is a Defensive alliance known as an aggressive supporter of Terrorism and oppression all over the world? When it is called NATO. Speaking of which, there is no way Turkey is letting Finland/Sweden Join, and if Turkey leaves, then Russia gains an Ally Bigly.

The “sovereign” government of Ukraine can make the declaration of war itself. After all, it was about to attack Donbass and Crimea when Russia spoiled the party with the SMO. That explains why some 100k most capable Ukrainian forces got bogged down near the border of Donbass as opposed to defending the border with Russia. Why some 15k highly motivated troops were hunkering down in Mariupol city proper as opposed to being more strategically placed to defend the country from an invader. Surely, US intelligence was warning Ukraine of an imminent attack for months and even provided specific dates for the invasion. We all saw it on TV so it couldn’t have taken Ukrainian intelligence by surprise. Maybe it was all a self fulfilling prophecy as a result of its own planned invasion of Donbass and Crimea? Ukraine won’t declare war at this stage because that would mean cutting off the Russian gas pipeline over its territory to Europe. European benefactors, supplying arms and such, are already suffering dearly from miscalculating Russia’s ability to withstand “sanctions from hell” that are destroying EU member economies at a pace not seen since WW2.

While “sources close to the situation” were warning Western TV viewers of an imminent attack by “Putin”, the Ukrainian regime was escalating shelling of Donbass inspite of the ceasefire being in effect as a result of the Minsk Agreements, per OSCE data :

Dustin Yohner I was playing along with the headline narrative of the article (which appears to change daily). In fact, the border between Russia and Ukraine was subject to a peace and cooperation treaty that was renewable every 5 years I believe. Poroshenko in 2018 failed to extend it because the regime was preparing a large scale offensive to reclaim Donbass/Crimea so legally there is no border. It is part of the rationale why Russia is conducting a special military operation rather declaring war. On the flip side, the Donetsk and Luhansk regions (the Donbass) conducted referendum in 2014 to become autonomous regions, following the Kosovo precedent, which Kiev along with its curators in the West did not wish to recognize, in violation of International Law. Because of the imminent invasion by the Kiev regime of the Donbass (which was preceded by 8 yrs of shelling/ ethnic cleansing/genocide), the two autonomous regions were finally recognized by Russia in February as independent republics. Since Donbass had some 800k Russian citizens and for other reasons, the two republics appealed to Russia for help which triggered the SMO, in accordance with UN protocol.

Alex Lagetko it’s also important to note that even though there were no legal borders with Russia, Putin was reluctant to change the status quo after the 2014 unconstitutional coup (largely due to pure economics of Ukraine being a welfare state that required significant subsidies and corruption reform), and exhaust all political avenues to arrive at a peaceful solution, which is evidenced by the fact that he did not recognize the autonomy of Donetsk and Lugansk unless it was part of Ukraine, which was the premise behind the Minsk Agreements. Since Zelensky 1. abolished the law that afforded Russian language an official status (imagine if Switzerland abolished the French language in the same manner), 2. publicly denounced the Minsk agreements as being signed by Ukraine under duress (an argument that only a rogue regime can proffer) and therefore are not binding, and 3. publicly declaring the intent to develop nukes, the situation on the political front escalated rapidly in the weeks and days preceding the Russian military intervention.

for somebody who claims to be a financial director and claims to finish Cornell… eh… could have done some checking.

Attack Donbas with what? In the beginning of the war, Ukraine had only 2 tank brigades (maybe 120 tanks each, not sure how many operational), and one was not even near Donetsk. 4 or so reserved brigades started to train after that war started. There were troops defending mariupol (and coast region overall) because this was one of the primary target of 2 pronged russian attack (and separatists target in 2014).

Attack Donbas exactly when Russia placed an overwhelming (in terms of equipment) force both near Donetsk region (and other major forces from 3 directions)? This would be a suicide. How do you imagine attacking a big city like Donetsk (you can not take it in “2 days”) when the Russian border (even if Russia did not have troops in Donetsk region) is only 20 miles away? Some areas are within long range artillery even from Russia.

Could Ukraine have prepared for this war better? Yes. But this is a different question.

lol, you would not be the first person I know “born in Donbass” who misunderstands the situation.

I’m not asking everybody to study military conflicts in detail (I’m just somehow curious about military for quite some time, not only in Ukraine), but a reasonable person should be able to look up overall military situation in Ukraine before the Russian invasion, and make own conclusions.

Attacking Donbas region with much better equipped Russian forces positioned all around Ukraine and waiting for any pretext would be a suicide. Why would Ukraine do this? In this war, it can only rely on western weapons, Ukrainian courage (well, and on putinists being dumb…) It would not get western support if it was the aggressor, would not it?

(and yep, I would not say Ukraine would never try to return Donbass by force… but not with Russians all around it!)

Alex Lagetko sigh… maybe you also believe that it was Finland that fired into Soviet territory in 1939? Or that Afghans (or Czechs, Hungarians, etc) really asked Soviet troops into their countries in later years?

This was a Russian attempt to escalate the conflict before the invasion (NATO representatives even warned about this escalation a coupe of days before the war started).

The conflict was stabilizing. Very few civilian casualties (on both sides) in 2019, 2020, 2021. Russia needed to show it is still “active”, to have a pretext.

eh… currently, several times more people are killed in one day (Ukrainians, russian troops) than would be killed in a year in that region 😦

I understand you know nothing about military (I’m “technically” an officer in the Russian army, in reserve, obviously), but, again, the overall structure, location of Russian and Ukrainian forces before the war is reasonably known. there is no way Ukrainians could do successful, large scale offensive operations. They, alas, still really can not quite do it (unless they are ok to lose a lot of troops). The weapons balance is still not great for Ukraine, even with huge Russian losses.

Mikhail Moukine you should follow Gary Gasparov. He makes stuff up too to gain attention. The military strategy is one for the books. About 1:4 ratio vs the 2:1 typically expected of an “invader”. Strategy depends on the situation. In large cities like Mariupol where the adversary uses human shields (I m sure you’ve watched lots of testimony from locals being fluent in Russian), the strategy is similar to the one deployed in Syria. That’s where the Chechens along with Donetsk militia excelled). Because Russians have to cover about 2 Iraqs while securing the territory without obliterating it, logistics dictate pace. Russia’s victory in its stated mission is certain. It’s a matter of minimizing casualties and using least amount of troops (about 15% of its contracted force used in rotation). They have control of the sky so they can follow the pace at their choosing. Mariupol, Kherson and many other regions are in the meantime coming back to normal with many residents feeling a big sigh of relief. Of course, the western part is a different issue, but by the time the Eastern cauldron is decimated, there won’t be much military capability left in the West of Ukraine. Long range artillery and of course, hypersonics make a big difference.

Alex Lagetko if you knew history of WW2, you would know that, at the outset it was a war of the West vs Russia. The German allies included Finland, Romania, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia anc Austria (the first country to have concentration camps for Russians in 1915-1916). Mercenaries from Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden France (who welcomed the Nazis in Paris) anc Spain. Sort of the same set up you have now with the combined West using Ukraine as the staging ground to wage war with Russia. We know how that ended.

lol… thanks for the laugh.

You did not answer the question – how Ukraine could possibly “attack donbass” while having a huge disadvantage in equipment. But I did not expect you to answer – you have no clue.

lol – “testimonies”. I have friends in Russia who used to organize “political meetings” (for Putin or Zhirinovsky etc). Give me money, I will organize you interviews with people who saw aliens landing on their backyard.

(and yes, with a big war going on, in some cases I’m sure Ukrainian army “misused” civilians, violated rules of war – I even saw a couple of examples, it is inevitable).

Russian military strategy in the beginning was a disaster. Probably “forced” on the russian army by even bigger idiots than russian generals (FSB?). They killed thousands of their troops, burned a ton of equipment. Yep, finally got better – but can only fight on one operational theatre by slowly bombing everything with artillery and airstrikes.

and don’t tell me about Mariupol and Kherson – I have friends there. One girl had to survive for 3 weeks with her kid underground, w/o food, electricity, heat. With Russians bombing the hell out of the city. Luckly, she managed to finally escape to the west. Another one stuck in Kherson – it happened too quickly over there. She calls Russians “orcs” and believes Ukrainian forces will eventually free the city.

No honest smart person wants to live under putin’s regime. It is for “crooks in power” and “old losers”, dreaming of “former USSR glory”. Especially now, when almost nothing interesting will be developed in Russia due to sanctions (not that they had much before…).

(and no, Russia does yet have “true” hypersonic weapons – with air breathing engine, mach 5.5+ sustained atmospheric, maneuverable flight. Pretty much every ballistic missile is, flies faster than 5.5 at some point in flight, so one can say it is achieving hypersonic speeds. Irrelevant for this war though).…see more

Alex, you seem to be quite an authority situation. If it almost all the money and I mean oil, that seems quite ludicrous. The United States of America has enough natural gas and oil that we do not need any from Russia, Iraq, the Saudis or anyone. We should open our own reserves and help stop the genocide that is going on in the country because Russia lost a gain more probably. The USA could’ve walked out the Russian army when they were sitting ducks on 40 miles of highway with the B-52 strike from Diego Garcia. But I can understand the USA keeping at arms length from the small tragedy. We are spending more money on small arms then what a minimal number of fighting aircraft cost, and again Ukraine has qualified pilots to fly them.

Larry Stephenson You bring up a few interrelated points. Let me address the natural resource situation and work backwards to the Ukraine conflict. The principal issue with US economy is not money supply related. It is commodity scarcity. The oil we have (light sweet crude) is not suitable to meet our diesel demand, which is more important than gasoline. That is why we import Russian heavier crude to achieve an optimal mix ratio for diesel production. Russia is commodity, wheat, fertilizer and precious metals rich. We are too but not in quantities sufficient to maintain our standard of living (hence we have massive inflation and supply shortages). Even if if we can meet our natural gas needs, the industry operates for profit (it’s not nationalized) so the companies will export natural gas to countries which pay more, increasing our prices. That’s the macro backdrop. So bottom line our economy has and will suffer until relations with Russia are restored. Especially since most of the world (by population) continues to do business with Russia.

Alex Lagetko Turning to Ukraine, it has a long history of anti Russian movement but I will focus on 2014, when the overthrow of govt led to the so called “democratic” regime. It was anything but. The first thing they did is strip Russian as an official language even though at least 40% of the population were ethnic Russians. Than led to a wave of referendum across various regions, including Donbass (which included Mariopol), Kharkov, etc. That’s when Ukrainian military, most of which consisted of far right militants, began its terror campaign on these regions, killing and torturing thousands of civilians, conducting aerial bombing attacks on Donetsk, and sending tanks into Mariopol. And of course the Odessa massacre of May of 2014. It is a documented fact, backed by graphic scenes and testimony, that it is the Ukrainian regime that was and is guilty of genocide. It is one of a number of reasons why Russia was (after over 7 years of atempting to negotiate a resolution to this) was brough into the conflict. While the media focuses on February of this year to paint the picture of “Putin’s invasion” of a “sovereign” country, the facts are distorted and lack pretext and context.

Alex Lagetko Ukraine lost its sovereign status once it failed to extend its cooperation agreement with Russia around 2018 (an agreement that was in place since dissolution of USSR in 1991). Ukraine has no legally defined border with Russia as a result, a point which was raised by ex UN head Ban Ke Mon himself. Lastly, Ukraine lost its sovereignty by committing acts of oppression using military against ethnic Russians, which falls in the legal definition of genocide. Media makes lots of claims of Russia targeting civilians but that is not consistent with how it is conducting its military operation. It is in stark contrast to how US invaded Iraq as an example. Going back to the heart of the issue which surfaced in the months leading to the Ukraine conflict – Russia’s demands that NATO acknowledge its violation of prior agreements by moving eastward of 1991 lines. The escalation around Ukraine followed, with US coordinating Ukraine’s preparation of large scale invasion of Donbass, which declared autonomy via referendum in 2014 and Crimea (which did the same following Kosovo precedent). Russia could have invaded Ukraine in 2014 when it had a pitiful military but it didn’t. A host of complex factors led to the current conflict.

Alex Lagetko lastly, while some parts of Ukraine are anti Russian (western Ukraine which the media takes the liberty of partraying as the entire Ukraine), there are vast regions which are solidly pro Russian, including Mariopol, a historically Russian city, which received tons of media coverage laced with redacted or simply inconsistent narratives. These regions always wanted to be part of Russia or have close ties with Russia culturally and economically. It is this part of Ukraine that doesn’t exist in the narrative based on which many westerners become gullible and hypocritical champions of democracy when referring to the Ukraine conflict. It is Ukranians from the Western no conflict regions that form the bulk of refugees in Europe feeding their narrative. By doing so, they are supporting Ukraine’s corrupt regime false narrative and undermining the rights and wishes of a large portion of Ukrainian population which embraces Russian intervention after years of systematic oppression.

Pamela Koelbel RN, MSN (FNP/CNS-CHN), MPHA you substitute Ukraine for Russia and you would be correct. For 7 years Ukraine chose violence and genocide instead of abiding by the Minsk Agreements. Economic exchange is so tied in with Russia. Effort for the European Union to add more sanctions won’t be enough. Apparently we have several democratically run countries that will not join in on this endeavor simply due to their dependence of resources with Russia. And of course– ignorance is not bliss with Tucker Carlson on Fox and others. He is well covered by Russia while leaders are laughing behind closed doors on his obvious ignorance. Self serving persons such as him love the attention– their motivation. Some congressman, as well, are not appearing to see the whole picture. They argue to leave Russia’s agenda alone. And most likely – a past leader of our country- who had and still has a taste of power, is showing indicators of support for Putin. As he feeds his own agenda behind closed doors. He clearly shifted from democratic principles toward

the lure of power to be an aristocrat. Putin is going all the way and despite appearance of countries against him and his agenda, many other countries are supporting him out of economic dependency and/ or personal agenda. Putin does not show any indicators of stopping. The chess game of lies and destruction continues as people suffer along the way. Sad but true.

AIRCRAFT FOR UKRAINE, an idea that has real chance.

For all I know, this may already be happening- but if not we can all help by posting this information and hopefully someone in authority says- yes, lets do this ASAP!

There are between 30 and 100 former Soviet aircraft used around the world as training planes for ‘aggressor” squadrons. These are owned in the most part by private contractors. Not all of these can quickly be armed: But I would guess a large number just need a few days work to mount missiles or gun pods or bomb racks.

Because they are owned by private contractors, it should be easy to buy them from the contractors and give to the Ukraine people. Without any political issues.

I urge everyone who reads this, to post this on their page and send this to all their friends: hopefully someone will have a connection to someone with political connections and can make this happen.

If we do not stop the Russians in Ukraine, we will be fighting them in Poland, and Norway and Sweden

Your consideration is valid. As you must know there is hesitancy on doing this since the NATO alliance is very aware that having planes go in could start nuclear war. Russia’s nuclear capacity is as strong as US. Clearly the hesitancy of violating the NATO rules on this is high creating delay. NATO, along with Biden, is quite aware of this possible danger. Not weakness. Smart. I refuse to send anymore messaging in this post since the other replies are extremely political and exagerative with extreme labeling and blame. Enjoy reading them. I am out…..

Read your post more in detail. Need for planes has clearly been the biggest necessity —primary to squash Russian power. What I take with your idea– private companies can use their collection of planes per Russian design- to bipass the political stance of implementing planes from NATO, that may be familiar to Ukrainian pilots enough that training may be minimal.

Quality concept and I hope it happens. No matter what we must take a major risk and squash Putin. And it would be a major risk — a danger to us as well if we pursue that route. But he’s got to be stopped. He is doing genocide and does not care.

China, North Korea, Iran, and other aristocratic countries, Including some people in our country, are surely cheering him on In the background. They want our world order to be dismantled–Democratically run countries to be dismantled.

As noted, for the world’s sake, Ukraine must win. Otherwise the whole world Will be changed, a threat to democracy.. Rules will be no more–violations will occur at a whim as Putin is demonstrating now. Like in Czechnia, he is showing determination with no regard for world order.

R Alexander Stop soiling your pants about what Russians are going to do. This country confronted them and their proxies successfuly before, in Korea in 1950s, in Vietnam in the 1960s and 70s, in Afghanistan in 1980s and just a couple of years ago in Syria, where hundreds of Russians were killed by US fire.

Ukraine to America: What is the cost of one’s life…  A gallon of gas?

Will you allow Freedom to be destroyed to avoid a few extra pennies on the price of gas? Ukraine does not need you to implement a No-Fly Zone, Ukraine needs you to provide them with the weapons to take down planes. The same weapons you gave to Osama Bin Ladin to take down planes when Russia invaded Afghanistan. Unlike what recently happened in Afghanistan against the Taliban, Ukraine is standing up and fighting!  All they ask from America is the necessary weapons so they can continue fighting. Not only for Ukraine but for Democracy, Freedom, Human Rights, Liberty, and Dignity for all people over the world.  Gregory St. James Mundy

Oil oligopoly sets price of oil, period. Oil delivered in 2021 didn’t cost more to produce as it sat there in its storage tank. Pull on any excuse but it’s as simple as…hey that’s a good idea for price hike …think about it..,oil price goes up and profits go up… isn’t that a good time for prices to go down? Oligopolists have most people in a mental straightjacket.

Is it true that high ranking admin officials ventured to Venezuela for talks with President Maduro, presumably to do with oil? Strang, considering the poilitcis recognizing official recognition in Washington of Juan Gaudo as president. And now, if it’s true, our entering talks with Maduro? Hard to imagine him budging even if sanctions are eased. Why would he stab Russia, which has helped his country through hard times, in the back? Politics can take funny truns, take on strange bedfellows, though.

My thought: 3rd World War or insensible wars, whatever we name it. It is a war. Since 1950 the USA has had failures in Korea, Vietnam, East Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, and Syria. The USA did not learn its lesson. The World is not in the pre-1940s. Prior 1940s, the World was controlled by colonialism and communist ideology. The pre-1940 generation was morally, socially, religiously, and culturally bondage. It was easy to unify the World against fascism. Recently, Putin’s victory over Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea (Crimean Khanate), Syria, and Ukraine and diplomatically solving issues with Turkey and China gave him the upper hand. The European Union by the former colonial masters is not true unity. Their unity is based on economic benefits. The new generation is dominated by individualism, instant gratification, and culturally devoted to social media and depends on technology. If the war gets out of hand, the World will see a nightmare they have never witnessed before. Think before a leap.

It is unfortunate but I do not see Putin backing down. He continues to break agreements– which has occurred since the beginning of this horrific war. The history of effort to control neighbors who showed ability to function independently is strong. Fareed Zakaria is one of the most wise information resources on quality guests discussing the history and present. Since I am not a historian. I choose resources that can be trusted. Also, from an interview I watched in 2017 with Putin, he seemed more economically focused with countries. Obviously his interest in Financial exchange and benefits– whether for his closest devotees to maintain loyalty or increased power with exchange, he saw as primary. Now he just does not care. The sore spot of Ukraine and other countries around Russia has excellerated beyond methodical assessment which he once had. The world is watching more than ever. NATO — who he resented for years, is appearing as the most aligned then ever. He is isolated to a greater degree with difficulty in receiving accurate info per what is happening. He may be unstable and cornered by battle more than by reason. He must win despite the obvious. A possible build up of a different Putin, a possible time bomb.

Cheryl Romo In regard to cutting off Russia depends on the President & NATO that are hesitant because they are caught up in Putin’s saber rattling with threats of a low-level nuclear encounter!

What is really driving this is Big Oil! Shell Oil built the refineries back in the Day.

War Crimes ongoing is now recognized as Genocide.

Military Arms & Equipment arrived today fulfilling President Zellenskyy’s cries for help to defend his Country!

This whole narrative about supplying jets needs to be implemented to take out Russian Jet fighters over what needs to create a no-fly Zone.

The Question is what will happen when Putin crosses the red line!

Will it be a misguided missile that strikes a NATO Country?

Finland & Sweden lead by two women will applying to NATO.

As soon as the war is one & will be question is when.

Once again Politics is involved where the J-6 Investigations are going on documenting evidence that by August, I predict, on Trump & his cohorts in the House & Senate will unravel the Right-Wing of the GOP!

However, with Putin Trumps Buddy the future indictments are linked to the mid-terms.
